Exporting Locations
Export your Shopify locations to a CSV or Excel file — across one store or all your connected stores at once. Each location comes across with its name, full address, active state, and the flags that decide whether it fulfills online orders — handy for auditing your fulfillment network across shops.

What you can export
In Simple mode you pick from a curated list of the fields merchants export most. The key ones:

| Address Line 1 / Line 2, City, Province, Country, ZIP, Phone | The location's full postal address. |
| Formatted Address | A single joined address string. |
| Latitude / Longitude | The location's geo coordinates. |
| Updated At | When the location was last modified. |
| Store | The store each location belongs to, added when you export several shops. |
Template (Advanced) mode opens the full column tree — the reactivation and deletion flags, fulfillment-service handle, plus metafields — and lets you rename column headers.
One row per location
A location exports as one row per location. If you add Metafield columns, the export expands to one row per metafield, with the location fields repeated on each row; otherwise every location is a single row.
Filtering what you export
You can narrow a locations export by:
- Stores — one, several, or all connected stores.
- Active — active or inactive locations.
- Is Fulfillment Service — yes/no.
- Fulfills Online Orders — yes/no.
- Has Active Inventory — yes/no.
- Country Code — locations in a given country.
- Created / Updated — date ranges.
The filter you set on a locations export is part of that export and is independent of whatever filter you last used on the Locations dashboard.
Exporting from the dashboard vs the wizard
The Locations dashboard has an Export button (the Export Builder) for a quick, single-entity export scoped to what you're looking at — Current page, Filtered, Selected, or All locations across your stores. The Export Wizard is the place for multi-entity exports and scheduled bundles. Both share the same columns, templates, formats, and destinations.
Scheduling
Any locations export can be saved as a daily, weekly, or monthly schedule instead of a one-time run; each run rebuilds from live data. See Scheduled exports.
Tutorial: export all active locations with their addresses
- Open Exports → New export (
/exports/new). - In Step 1, tick Locations and click Next.
- In Step 2, keep Simple columns. Make sure Name, Address Line 1, City, and Country are selected.
- Add an Active filter set to true to export just your live locations, or a Stores filter to limit which shops are included.
- In Step 3, choose CSV or Excel and a destination such as Email.
- In Step 4, name it and click Run now, or Save as scheduled bundle for a recurring export.
Permissions
Exporting is gated by two permissions:
- View Exports lets a team member build exports.
- Download Exports lets them download the finished file.
Account owners always have both.
FAQ
Can I export Shopify locations to Excel? Yes — choose Excel (.xlsx) in
Step 3. CSV is also available.
Does the export include the full address? Yes — Address Line 1 and 2, City, Province, Country, ZIP, and Phone are all Simple-mode columns, plus a single Formatted Address and geo coordinates.
Can I export only the locations that fulfill online orders? Yes — add a Fulfills Online Orders filter set to true before you run.
Can I tell active locations from inactive ones? Yes — the Active column and filter mark each location's state.
Can I export locations from all my stores at once? Yes — an export spans every connected store by default; add a Stores filter to narrow it.
Can I schedule a locations export? Yes — save it as a daily, weekly, or monthly schedule; each run rebuilds from live data.
