Companies dashboard
The Companies dashboard brings every B2B company from all your connected Shopify stores into one list. Instead of opening each store's B2B section separately, you get a single view of your wholesale and business buyers — their locations, main contacts, and spend — that you can filter, sort, and export.
Companies are Shopify's B2B accounts (available on Shopify Plus). Each company can have multiple locations and a designated main contact.
Opening the dashboard
In the left sidebar, expand Customers and click Companies, or visit
/companies directly.
What you'll see
Each row is one company, with these columns:
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Company | The company's name. |
| Store | Which connected store the company belongs to. |
| Ordering | Whether the company can place orders — Approved once it has at least one location, otherwise Pending. |
| Locations | How many locations the company has. |
| Main contact | The company's designated main contact, or "No main contact" when none is set. |
| Total orders | How many orders the company has placed. |
| Total sales | The company's total spend, in its currency. |
| Last activity | When the company was last updated. |
| Created | When the company was created (hidden by default). |
If you only have one connected store, the Store column is hidden automatically since every row belongs to the same store.
Use the column picker to show, hide, and reorder columns, and set your default sort — the dashboard remembers your choice.
Filtering and searching
Narrow the list down with filters, and sort by any column:
- Stores — focus on one or more of your stores.
- Has main contact — companies with or without a designated main contact.
- Created at — companies created within a date range.
- Updated at — companies with recent activity.
The search box matches by company name or external ID.
Exporting
Open the Export Builder from the dashboard to download companies as CSV or Excel. You choose the scope:
- Current page — just what's on screen.
- Filtered — everything matching your current filters.
- Selected — only the rows you tick.
- All companies — the full list across your stores.
Pick the columns you want, and download. If you export the same shape regularly, save it as a template so it's one click next time.
Tutorial: find B2B companies that still need a main contact
A quick walkthrough of a common cleanup job — spotting companies with no designated contact so you can assign one.
- Open Customers → Companies from the sidebar.
- In the filter bar, set Has main contact to No so only companies without a designated contact remain.
- Add a Stores filter if you want to focus on one store, or leave it off to see every store together.
- Click the Total sales or Total orders column header to sort, so your most active companies rise to the top and get a contact first.
- Use the column picker to make sure Locations and Main contact are visible for context.
- Open the Export Builder, choose the Filtered scope, pick your columns, and download a CSV or Excel to work through with your team.
Permissions
Account owners always have access. For team members, access is controlled by the relevant View permission — without it, opening the dashboard shows a "no access" message. Grant it from your team member's permissions.
FAQ
Does the Companies dashboard show companies from all my stores at once? Yes — every connected store's B2B companies land in one list. Filter by Stores when you want to focus on a single store.
What does the Ordering column mean? It mirrors Shopify Admin's B2B ordering status. A company shows Approved once it has at least one location, and Pending when it has none.
Why do some companies say "No main contact"? That company hasn't had a main contact designated in Shopify yet. Use the Has main contact filter to find them all at once.
Do I need Shopify Plus to use this? B2B companies are a Shopify Plus feature, so only stores on Plus will have companies to show here.
Can I export only the companies I've filtered to? Yes. Open the Export Builder and choose the Filtered scope to export exactly what matches your current filters — or Selected for just the rows you tick.
