Export several entities in one run

You don't have to export one thing at a time. In the Export Wizard you can tick several entities and export them together as a bundle — either as separate files or as a single Excel workbook with one sheet per entity. It's the export counterpart of importing a whole workbook: one action, many entities, in one run.

Building a bundle

  1. Open Exports → New export (/exports/new).
  2. In Step 1, tick every entity you want — for example Orders, Customers, and Products. Each becomes its own tab in the next step.
  3. In Step 2, configure each entity independently: its columns (Simple or template), an optional filter, and a template. The tab badge shows how many columns each has selected.
  4. In Step 3, choose the output mode (below) and the destination.
  5. In Step 4, name the bundle and either Run now or Save as scheduled bundle.

Output modes

When more than one entity is selected, Step 3 offers two shapes:

For a combined workbook, a reorder panel lets you set the sheet order and names so the file opens exactly how you want it.

A single-entity export skips this step — there's only ever one file.

Running and delivery

  • Run now builds the bundle and delivers it to your destination (email, FTP, or Google Drive). Small bundles build immediately; larger ones (a few thousand rows across all entities) are queued and processed in the background, with an in-app notification when the file is ready.
  • The bundle appears on your Exports dashboard as a single Bundle row — open it to see each entity's row count and download the pieces.

Scheduling a bundle

A bundle can be a recurring schedule just like a single export: choose Save as scheduled bundle in Step 4 and set a daily, weekly, or monthly cadence. Every run rebuilds all the entities from live data and delivers one bundle. Manage it alongside your other schedules at Exports → Schedules (/exports/schedules), where a bundle shows as Bundle · N · XLSX with its entity count.

Exporting across stores

A bundle spans all your connected stores by default. To scope it, add a store filter to each entity in Step 2 — for example, a combined workbook of one store's Orders, Customers, and Products. The Stores entity is itself exportable if you want a sheet listing the stores too.

Tutorial: a weekly all-in-one store workbook

  1. Go to Exports → New export.
  2. In Step 1, tick Orders, Customers, and Products.
  3. In Step 2, apply the Shopify Standard template to each (or pick columns), and add the same store filter to each tab if you want a single store.
  4. In Step 3, choose Combined workbook — one Excel file, three sheets — and set the destination to Email.
  5. In Step 3's reorder panel, order the sheets Orders → Customers → Products.
  6. In Step 4, name it "Weekly store workbook", choose Save as scheduled bundle, set Weekly, and save.

FAQ

Can I put several entities in one spreadsheet file? Yes — choose the Combined workbook output and you get one Excel file with a sheet per entity.

Can each entity have its own columns and filter? Yes — every entity in the bundle is configured independently in Step 2, with its own columns, template, and filter.

Can a bundle be scheduled? Yes — save it as a scheduled bundle with a daily, weekly, or monthly cadence; each run rebuilds every entity and delivers one bundle.

What happens with a very large bundle? It's queued and built in the background; you get a notification when it's ready, and you can leave the page while it runs.

Is the combined workbook always Excel? Yes — a single combined file is always .xlsx. Choose Separate files if you'd rather have CSVs.
